I went in to see my hair guru/therapist the other day to catch up and re-do my ombre, he did a double glance at my hair and suggested I try Olaplex since my hair is fried cause of ombre and curlers *surprise, surprise* for the life of me I had no clue what Olaplex was, but I was intrigued to see if it lived up to the hype, so I popped into get my colour done and try out the almighty product and now I swear by it. My hair feels so much better, and my favorite part is that it tamed my flyaways and baby hairs. So what does Olaplex do? It is a system that permanently rebuilds the damaged disulphide bonds in your hair that are broken during the chemical process. If you've over-bleached over the years, Olaplex allows you to rebuild the strength, structure and integrity of your hair; a 'reset' for your locks. Olaplex is a three-part treatment, the first two of which have to be done in a salon, here's how: First, Olaplex Number 1: Bond Multiplier is used - this can be put on the hair as a stand-alone treatment, or if (like in my case) you're getting your colour done, it is mixed in with the bleach and put straight onto your hair in foils. Olaplex Number 2, Bond Perfector is then put on the hair once the bleach is rinsed out. This is left on for a good 20 minutes to really get the most out of its chemical mending. Olaplex Number 3, Hair Perfector is where you take things into your own hands. The third step is a take home treatment, which the guys at Nevilles recommend you use once a week. Apply to damp hair, comb through, and leave on for a minimum of 10 minutes at home before washing as normal. If you want to maximise the effect, leave it on overnight (as Kim K recommends).
