You’ve probably been washing your hair wrong your whole life. That "lather, rinse, and repeat" rule? A web of lies. For years, pros have insisted that the best way to cleanse hair and boost volume is to condition before shampooing, and now beauty companies are starting to get behind the message.
I was sent this product by TRESemme to try out for free and after trying the pre-wash conditioner, I was interested to see how the TRESemme Full Volume Reverse System Anti-Static Shampoo worked on my hair. After pre-washing my hair with the conditioner, I shampooed my hair in the normal way. I loved the smell of the product, both whilst using and afterwards. After use, my hair was soft and silky with a lovely smell and plenty of volume.
Using conditioner after you shampoo can weight hair down and leave it flat. TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner is designed to be used before you shampoo, to leave hair smooth and polished but still full of bounce.
Why the switch? “Women of all ages are wearing their hair longer, so volume and lift are more essential than ever,” says New York hairstylist Nathaniel Hawkins, who’s a big proponent of the reverse approach. “Shampooing after you condition removes the heavy residue (silicones, oils) that weighs hair down and flattens the roots,” he says. “Washing it out adds immediate body.”
Begin with the pre-wash conditioner.
For mid length hair, apply 2-3 pumps into the palm of hand and distribute evenly to wet hair focusing on the lengths.
Leave on for 1 minute, rinse thoroughly.
Follow with the shampoo as usual.
Style as desired using the full beauty-full volume styling range.
