My nail care routine

I've always, always had weak, brittle nails that would split and break.

I love the look of perfectly manicured nails so I would opt for a full set of acrylics, get refills, take them off,see how bad my real nails look get another set done, which would go for months and months at time which would weaken my already paper thin nails even more, vicious cycle I went through, till last summer when I vowed to take care of my natural nails, took my acrylics off and that was it.

Mission: ON

Here are some of things I used

*Olive oil became my new best friend I'd heat up 1/2 a cup of EVOO in the microwave and soak my nails in it for about 10-15 minutes.

*Petroleum jelly or Vaseline to moisturize the nail bed and soften cuticles.

*OPI Natural nail strengthener $25 is one of my favorite nail hardeners out there, I've been using it for months and haven't had any nails break.

* Finally, regular manicures at the spa. I honestly owe it all to Shellac nail polish, yes I worked hard to get my nails nice and strong, and Shellac CND honestly does what it claims to do, it strengthens your nails with the top coat sealer.Unlike regular nail polish that chips and you (I) feel the urge to pick at it and peel it off peeling the top layer of my nail with it, not to mention how terrible nail polish nail polish remover frequent use is.
