Evening gown shopping in Montreal

Let me tell you evening gown shopping in Montreal is tricky. part because of the lack of stores, and part of the lack in variety. When I say evening gown I mean GOWN with a capital G. I need my bling, my train the whole nine yards.
So it is not a cocktail dress or plain chiffon dress that I am looking for, cause heaven knows we have BCBG and Dress Couture for those, don't get me wrong I love their dresses yet when you are limited to TWO stores known for party dresses chances of you walking into the event and finding three other guests wearing your dress are highly likely. *cringe*
Yeah.. that is not an option.
Sooo, Once I know I am invited to one of my gala-like big weddings I pencil in time blocks for some Plaza st.Hubert shopping! Do not freak out just yet! I agree some of the boutiques in that long stretch of bridal stores are very tacky. However let me let you in on my little secret, my two favorite places where you will leave extremely happy. Anais design boutique and Ami-Fer boutique carry a variety of designs, I once walked in literally a week before I was leaving town to attend a wedding over seas, picked a dress, booked an appointment with the seamstress two days later to get it hemmed and taken in she agreed to have it done on the same day because of my tight schedule and the result came out perfect.
The staff at both those stores are very patient, helpful and do not make you feel like they want to seal the deal if not then you are just wasting their time playing dress up (It has happened to me before and I will be posting about that experience). Give me my space and I will most likely say YES to the dress, do not get me wrong these dresses along with the alterations come with a hefty price tag yet if I am happy why not! Right? right!
Shout out to Anna and Patricia at Anais design, and Stephanie, Vicky and Santina at Ami-Fer you ladies have been super!
